Medical Assistant

Job Description

Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interview patients, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height) and record information on patients' charts.

Job task include:

  • Scheduling medical procedures, obtaining blood draws, taking patient medical histories, updating patient medical files, obtaining vital signs, administering electrocardiograms, instructing patients on proper usage of medications, Phoning in prescriptions to pharmacies, changing the dressing on wounds and removing sutures, Sterilizing medical instruments

Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday regular office hours.

Registered Nurse

Job description

We are looking for a motivated, engaged, Registered Nurse to join our primary care team. Our nurses work directly with our three physicians and medical assistants to ensure each patient receives the highest quality care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing patient care, communication with patients, assisting with examinations and treatments, and helping to maintain a clean and organized medical office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with patients via telephone or patient portal, regarding lab results, treatment plans, and prescription refills.

  • Assist with patient intake and perform vital signs and other assessments as directed by the physician.

  • Assist with minor medical procedures.

  • Provide patient education and support.

  • Prior Authorizations for medications.

  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed by the physician.

  • Performs other job duties, as applicable, and complete assigned tasks within established guidelines and time frames.

Requirements/Skills

  • Current nursing license for the State of Michigan

  • BLS (CPR, AED, First Aid) Certification (Preferred)

  • EHR-EPIC preferred

  • Demonstrate organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to build rapport with patients.

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Demonstrate strong and effective written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal skills.
